Chlamydia

Chlamydia is a bacterial-caused sexually transmitted infection (STI) which is caused by bacteria called chlamydia trachomatis. This infection is also called silent infection as it does not show any visible symptoms in the early stages of the infection. Because of its silent nature, the infection can easily spread easily as the infected person is unaware of being infected with the infection.

One can experience genital pain and discharge from the vagina or penis as a symptom of chlamydia.

However, the infection is curable with the help of a course of antibiotics. It is important to treat chlamydia as untreated chlamydia can lead to infertility issues and cause health problems later.

It is important to get yourself tested for STDs at regular intervals if you are sexually involved with new partners.
